| 40th Annual Chick-fil-A Bowl Announces 2007 Game Date
ATLANTA (April 24, 2007) -The Chick-fil-A Bowl -Atlanta's bowl game tradition since 1968 -will play it's 40th annual game Monday, Dec. 31 at 7:30 p.m. officials announced today. The game will be nationally televised by ESPN. The date was selected in order to play the game over the long weekend prior to the New Year's Day holiday, allowing ACC and SEC fans an easier travel schedule and an opportunity for a great football weekend in Atlanta. The game will, as usual, run unopposed in its time slot. The date will also provide the teams' fans time to visit several of Atlantas attractions like the Georgia Aquarium, High Museum, New World of Coca-Cola, Children's Museum and others. "Last year's new formula of matching the #2 team in the ACC against a great SEC team gave us one of the best finishes in our game's history," said Chuck Fruit, Chick-fil-A Bowl chairman. "We can't wait to try and top it this year with two more top-ranked teams and another of our traditionally close and competitive bowl games." |
