| This weekend, an estimated 200,000 motor sport fans will gather in south Los Angeles County for the 31st Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. This year's event offers more adrenaline-pumping action and special attractions than ever before. During all three race days - and Thursday's pre-race festivities - superstars of the exciting 2005 Boost Mobile Freestyle MX Tour presented by Yamoto by Patriot (Patriot Motorcycle Corp. - Pink Sheets: PMCY), will perform gravity-defying demonstrations as part of its national 70-city tour.
Daily shows will feature the sport's top riders on powerful motorcycles performing some of the most amazing aerial acrobatics ever seen in the motor sports world - while soaring overhead for thrilled racing fans. Planned stunts include incredible aerial moves and airborne back flips, performed during 80-foot ramp-to-ramp jumps. Over the race weekend (Friday, April 8th through Sunday, April 10th), star MX Tour riders will also perform three 25-minute shows in the centerfield arena at the Automobile Club of Southern California Lifestyle Expo. | David Boudia's overseas journey with the United States diving team continued recently in Zhuhai, China.
The Noblesville High School sophomore teamed with Thomas Finchum of Indianapolis to place sixth in the 10-meter (platform) synchronized competition. The tandem finished with 288.15 points. Finchum, a student at Indianapolis Lutheran High School, placed sixth in the 10-meter individual competition with a score of 447.51. The two 15-year-olds have emerged as one of top synchronized teams in the country. Boudia and Finchum narrowly missed making the 2004 Olympic team after placing third in the U.S. trials. The China Open in Zhuhai was the fourth stop on the 2005 Fina Diving Grand Prix series. Boudia and Finchum, who are teammates at the Indianapolis Regional Training Center in Indianapolis, competed in two of the three previous meets. In their first meet at Electrostal, Russia, the Indiana tandem placed sixth in the platform synchronized event. Both advanced to the semifinals in individual competition as well. At the third Grand Prix meet in Madrid, Spain, Boudia and Finchum placed fifth in the synchronized finals. Hamilton Southeastern graduate Phillip Jones, a former Indiana and Kentucky high school state champion, also competed in Electrostal and Madrid in the 3-meter individual competition. |
