| Florida Assistant Coach John "Doc" Holliday has withdrawn his name from consideration for the head coaching position at Marshall, he announced on Friday.
Holliday informed Marshall athletic director Bob Marcum of his decision Friday. "Its very flattering to have had the chance to be considered for the head coaching position at Marshall," said Holliday. "Sometimes life is about timing. While I certainly hope to be a head coach some day and the opportunity at Marshall would be a great fit for my family, and me, I really believe in the vision that Coach Meyer has for the University of Florida football program. Ive made a commitment to be a part of that and I want to continue to be a part of it. Marshall is certainly a great football program with a proud past and bright future, but a big part of my commitment to Florida and Coach Meyer is to the players that I coach. I am committed to help them be champions on and off the field." |
