| As an employee since the inception of the World Snowmobile Association back in 1997, WSA snowmaking operations employee Greg Zaleski knows a little bit about snowmaking.
Zaleskis expertise has come in handy over the past four days, as he and his crew have been busy making mountains of snow on Michigan International Speedways tri-oval grass area in preparation for the second annual Arctic Cat Snocross at the Speedway this weekend at MIS. The crew of three travel around the country making snow in preparation for WSA Snocross events, and have been blowing out bundles of the white stuff since they began the operation on Friday morning. People are fascinated by the snowmaking process, said Zaleski. When we pulled into town, they saw the snowmaking trucks and asked us if we were going to be out at the track. We answered a lot of questions just from people coming up to us over the last four days. With the cold temperatures that the state of Michigan experienced over the weekend and the forecast for the beginning of the week, nobody has been smiling more than Zaleski. |
