| There will be two garage areas this year at the Dodge/Save Mart 350 NASCAR NEXTL Cup weekend at Infineon Raceway, June 24-26.
In addition to the traditional NASCAR Garage that serves as home for all race teams and officials, the smash television show Monster Garage will come to Infineon Raceway for the first time. Some of the wild machines you have seen on the hit television show that airs on the Discovery Channel will be on display in the Save Mart Family Area all weekend. The area is located beneath the lap leaderboard at Turn 1. Six machines will be on display for race fans, including: Hot Dog Dragster: This New York City hot dog cart was transformed into a 130-mph dragster. This 1966 Woody Gilmore front-engine slingshot dragster is the envy of the neighborhood. Pikes Peak Hill Climb Racer: Jesse James and the crew transformed this 1988 Chevy Blazer into a high-powered machine that attacked the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. It was a 12.5-mile drive complete with hills, corners, dirt and gravel. Quarter-Mile Caddy: The crew was truly tested with this assignment, turning a 1981 Fleetwood Cadillac into a quarter-mile dragster. This beast weighed approximately two tons. Cop Car/Doughnut Shop: This mostly all-cop team converted a squad car into a mobile doughnut shop, complete with coffee maker and pastry display case. |
