| At the 2004 Eclipse Awards, Keenelands racing and sales programs were represented with multiple connections, including four equine champions, as well as outstanding trainer, jockey, apprentice jockey and leading owner winners.
Champion three-year-old female, Ashado, is a graduate of Keenelands 2002 September Yearling Sale, where she was purchased for $170,000 by Jack and Laurie Wolfs Starlight Stables from Taylor Made Sales Agency. The Kentucky Oaks and Breeders Cup Distaff winner, ran second in Keenelands Grade 1 $500,000 Ashland Stakes, a top prep for the Oaks. |

| Brian Hernandez, Jr., who won the Eclipse Award for champion apprentice jockey, tied Hall of Famer Pat Day for second place in Keenelands jockey standings at the 2004 fall race meeting. His 20 wins at Keeneland were the most by an apprentice since Earlie Fires won the 1966 title with 22, and Fires wasn't an apprentice the entire meet.
Todd Pletcher, who garnered the Eclipse Award for top trainer, won Keenelands Grade 2 Commonwealth Breeders Cup with Michael Tabors Lion Tamer. Pletcher also teamed with John Velazquez, who won the Eclipse for Outstanding Jockey, to win Keenelands Jessamine County Stakes with Paddys Daisy. Ken and Sarah Ramsey received the 2004 Eclipse Award as outstanding owners. The Ramseys have won two owners titles at Keenelandat the 2004 spring meet and the 2002 fall meet. Champion Steeplechase Horse, Hirapour (IRE), won the Grade 1 $150,000 Royal Chase for the Sport of Kings, Keenelands signature jump race run in the spring. |
