Monaco Grand Prix News:
An angry Michael Schumacher has blamed a 'stupid' Juan-Pablo Montoya's for his race-ending accident in Monaco.
In one of the most bizarre accidents of recent times, the World Champion, was shunted out of Sunday's Monaco GP by Montoya, as the pair followed the safety car through the tunnel.

Striving to generate heat into his cold Bridgestone tyres as they toured the track at F1's equivalent of walking speed, Schumi's stamp on the brakes, which caught out Montoya with dire consequences. The Williams, which was already close to the back of the Ferrari, lurched to the right to avoid a collision, but to no avail. The Ferrari, too had moved to the right as it braked sharply, and the FW26's slap spent Schumi spinning into the tunnel wall, dislodging his left front wheel and ending Schumacher's bid to start the season with a record-breaking six consecutive wins.

"I tried to avoid him as much as I could. I put the car against the wall. Where else am I supposed to go? Over the wall, just to let Michael by?" insisted Montoya. The stewards duly concurred with his assessment that it was a racing incident if an unfortunate one.

Jarno Trulli claimed his maiden grand prix victory in Monaco on Sunday, leading the accident-filled race from pole to finish.
Jenson Button came within half a second of taking the lead away from the Italian, but had to settle for the second runner-up finish of his career. Rubens Barrichello completed the podium.

However, the race was made remarkable more by the accidents than the close racing. The first of the three major shunts was the result of a blown Honda engine for Takuma Sato. Giancarlo Fisichella and David Coulthard were caught up in the chaos, all three retiring.

The second shunt involved Fernando Alonso, who crashed out of second place while trying to lap Ralf Schumacher in the tunnel. Instead he understeered off the racing line and slammed into the barriers inside the tunnel. While that accident was being cleared the third big shunt took place.

Michael Schumacher crashed out of the lead after appearing to lock his brakes in the middle of the tunnel, while following the safety car. Schumi's sudden drop in pace caused the Williams of Juan Pablo Montoya to pull up alongside him and Schumacher was pushed into the wall, wrecking the front left of his car.
