| Britain's Tim Henman suffered an embarrassing upset to qualifier Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina at the Monte Carlo Open.
His defeat over three sets was particularly surprising following his resounding victory over booming Swiss star Marc Rosset in the first round. Henman joins Greg Rusedski, who lost to Czech Slava Dosedel on Monday, on the casualty list and ends British involvement in the competition. |

| The British number one crashed out despite dominating phases of the match, having won only three of his 25 break points.
As he composure disintegrated, Henman's struggle with the slower clay courts infected his serve and he produced four double faults on the way to being broken five times. It could have all been over a lot sooner, but for a spirited fightback by the Oxford-born star, who clawed his way into the match from a one-set deficit and 4-2 down in the second to win six straight games and the set. But Chela's nerve held in the decider to recover from 2-0 down and win five games on the trot - and with them the match. |
