| At the sound of the final buzzer, number 2 Stanford avenged its only loss of the season in winning the 2004 Pacific Life PAC-10 Tournament. The 2004 men's basketball tournament was played at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, March 11-13. The Pacific Life PAC-10 Tournament features the top eight teams in the conference competing in a single-elimination tournament over a period of 3 days. Pacific Life became the new title sponsor in March 2003, and has a multi-year agreement with PAC-10 Properties, the tournament's organizing body. Televised on Fox Sports Net and CBS, the Pacific Life PAC-10 Tournament allows Pacific Life to extend and strengthen its brand awareness among a quality audience.
In the 2004 final, Stanford beat the University of Washington by a score of 77 to 66 to win a berth in the NCAA tournament for the 10th consecutive season. |
