| The Penn State football team's annual Blue-White Game will take on a new dimension in 2005, as a weekend of activities have been scheduled around the April 23 game set for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff at Beaver Stadium. Student activities and family fun will surround the stadium for two days around the Nittany Lions' spring game. Admission to the game is free.
The Blue-White Game festivities are scheduled for Friday, April 22 from 6 p.m. to 11p.m. and Saturday, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Activities will include a carnival with rides and a midway, a student stage and student booths, and a headline comedy show at the Bryce Jordan Center. On Saturday, Curtin Road from University Drive to Porter Road will turn into a strolling promenade for sampling of merchant wares, giveaways and student crowd pleasers. "We felt we wanted to do something special for our students and fans and expand on the popularity of the Blue-White game," Penn State Athletic Director Tim Curley said. A student stage will feature student "Karaoke Idol", and "Dream Job" reality show spin-offs. Fifteen student performing arts acts will take the stage as well as a Penn State Blue Band concert and competition routines from the Penn State cheerleaders and dance team. Student groups will also provide face painting and dunk tanks. |

| The Penn State Football staff will again welcome a large contingent of high school players from across the nation to its 31st annual summer football camps.
Penn State will host five different camp opportunities on the University Park campus in June, including a new seniors position camp. The 2005 Penn State camps feature two offense / defense skills and fundamentals camps for athletes entering 8th-12th grade in the fall, to be held June 19-22 and 26-29. A placekicking camp, staffed exclusively by former Nittany Lion placekickers, will be held June 4-5. This camp also is for 8th-12th graders. Penn State's popular 7 on 7 team passing camp will be held June 17-18. Many of the top high school teams from the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast have attended this camp and use it as a competitive off-season teaching opportunity for their skill players. This camp is designed for varsity programs. This summer will mark the inaugural "seniors only" position camp on June 24-25. This camp is designed to give an upcoming senior the opportunity to focus in on his primary offensive or defensive position. In addition to the Penn State staff, the senior camp will feature many former Nittany Lion players as coaches and guest clinicians. |
